The 1961 classic mammoth Hammer-Universal horror/monster masterpiece production was directed by veteran Hammer director Terence Fisher. Fisher’s other classic mammoth Hammer horror masterpieces include “The Curse of Frankenstein” (1957) with Hammer horror legends Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing for Warner Bros., “Horror of Dracula” (1958), the Universal/Hammer rendition of “The Mummy” (1959), “The Two Faces of Dr. Jekyll” (1960) and “The Gorgon” (1964).
