The legendary Berwyn/Chicago-based monster film host will present his big broadcast of “Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man” (1943), this Halloween/Sven-o-ween night/Sat.; Oct. 31 at 8 p.m. Eastern/7 p.m. Central on Me-TV. “Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man” (1943) will be the finale feature in the Berwyn/Chicago-based classic TV network’s “Sventacular October” thematic showcase of Sven’s Oct./Sat. evening classic horror/monster/creature/sci-fi/fantasy feature film masterpieces for the month of Oct.
The 1943 classic Universal “Frankenstein”/”Wolf Man” monster masterpiece pairing was directed by veteran studio director Roy William Neill. Neill was also known for directing the classic Universal mystery feature film masterpiece adaptations of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s “Sherlock Holmes” with Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce, beginning with “Sherlock Holmes and the Secret Weapon” (1942) and concluding with “Dressed to Kill” (1946, produced shortly before Neill’s death). “Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man” (1943) was produced by veteran director/producer George Waggner. The screenplay for “Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man” (1943) was written by veteran screenwriter/sci-fi author Curt Siodmak. Waggner previously directed the classic Universal mammoth monster masterpiece with Lon Chaney Jr., “The Wolf Man” (1941). Siodmak also wrote the screenplay for Waggner’s 1941 Universal classic mammoth werewolf monster masterpiece production.
This will mark Sven’s seventh big broadcast of “Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man” (1943) on Me-TV. He previously showcased the Universal “Frankenstein”/”Wolf Man” monster pairing back in Nov. 2011*, March 2012*, Feb. 2013, Dec. 2013, Aug. 2014 and March 2016.
